AT&T recently announced migration dates for the OPPC Buylink implementation to their various aggregation partners. At GoLive! Mobile we use various aggregators, and as such we were very surprised to see drastically different migration dates announced for different aggregators. Migration dates varied by over a month between various aggregators, with OpenMarket and MX Telecom’s mid-December cut-over requirement being the worst.
An interesting side note, this time-lapse between aggregator cut-over dates for Buylink left the opportunity for some “arbitrage” of the different dates by content providers, but AT&T quickly caught that and made a prudent announcement that migrations of non-OPPC short codes would be suspended.
